Joshua was born in Beijing within  a traditional Chinese  family. Joshua began his Mandarin Ministry at Emmanuel in 2006.  He earned his   Bachelor degree and graduated degree in Plant Genetics and Breeding in China and he obtained his PhD in Biological medicine at the University of Toronto.   Joshua also obtained his Master degree in Pastoral  Ministry from Carey Theological College in Vancouver. He married  Ling Shen, who was his classmate and has two children; Lucy Wang and Eddy Wang.
