Good Friday Service, April 18, 7:30 pm Tenebrae Service at Emmanuel (Fireside Lounge). Join us for a somber night of remembering our Lord’s death in our Good Friday Tenebrae service. Tenebrae is the Latin word for shadows. This service follows the gospel reading of our Lord’s Passion, beginning with the anointing at Bethany through his death and burial. After each reading, one candle is extinguished until we are left in silence and darkness as we remember our Lord’s burial. Prayers, songs, poems, and Communion will also be part of this experience.

TO FIND MANDARIN ONLINE WORSHIP INFORMATION GO TO: Mandarin Online Worship Information At Emmanuel we celebrate life with God through blended worship that encourages intergenerational and inter-cultural participation. We seek to engage the whole person in worship through the use of symbolism and creativity in many forms. This helps us sense and express our intimate relationship with God in ways that go beyond an intellectual knowing. Volunteers are engaged in planning and leading music in a variety of styles, writing and reading prayers and poetry, scripture reading, puppetry, drama, visual art and liturgical movement. We also observe communion on the first Sunday of the month, and baptisms several times a year.Â
